The Petronas Twin Towers may no longer be the world’s tallest towers, but their glittering pinnacles still dominate Kuala Lumpur’s skyline. The skybridge that links the two buldings at 170 metres above the ground is a great destination for tourist. Don’t forget that Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta – Jones have jumped from it in 1999 in the movie “Entrapment”. There is a very informative exhibition in the visitors centre on the construction of the 88 storey towers. It has plenty of interactive displays that will entertain tourists and a great simulator showing how the towers deal with lightning strikes.

The National Science Centre is a jade green dome of building perched on a hill at the back of Damansara Heights in Kuala Lumpur’s western suburbs. It has some great flashes of genius coupled with a few dysfunctional gaps, but is nevertheless well worth a visit. On the way up the hill, you pass the outdoor adventure playground, sound gallery and mini zoo. After parking up, you enter the actual science centre through an arched aquarium full of tropical fish. Then you go jade green dome, in the middle of the building. From here, there are different galleries, catering for all ages from a year upwards, and there are hundreds of interactive exhibits. Medical science, optical illusions, dinosaurs, the human body, bride-building and transport are some favourite spots. |
