At 4093.4 meters, most people claimed that Gunung Kinabalu is the highest mountain in South East Asia. No trip to Sabah is competing without getting at least to the first base of Mount Kinabalu. Visitor can climb up 3000 meters to Laban Rata, a half- way stop, before the final ascension.
The main peak of the mountain can be relatively easily climbed by a person with a good physical condition, and requires no mountaineering equipment.
